James Rodríguez is a new player for Everton in England and there are already great expectations with the Colombian, thinking about a historic season of the ‘toffee’ in the Premier League. Hailing from Real Madrid, the midfielder is the brand new signing that Carlo Ancelotti wanted, so now comes the great challenge of adapting and shining.
This weekend the Premier League kicks off, and Everton will have their first game on Sunday, September 13 (10:30 am) visiting Tottenham Hotspur, led by José Mourinho and in which Dávinson Sánchez also plays. From the outset, it seems unlikely that Ancelotti will take James into account, since he barely arrived and did not do preseason; however, we will have to wait until the last minute, as his coach wants him ready now.
The Everton schedule will continue on Tuesday, September 15 (1:00 pm), at the Carabao Cup. Everton will face the unknown Salford City, a much more viable match for James to have his first minutes with the ‘toffee’.
On Saturday 19 September (6:30 am), the day that matches his number, James could play his first home game in the Premier League: he will face West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park. While the last game of the month in the Premier League will be on Saturday, September 26 (9:00 am) visiting the Crystal Palace.
