Deaths, injuries and destruction is the balance of the protests registered during the last hours in Bogotá.

The acts of unbridled violence occurred mostly in the city’s CAIs, which were attacked by the mob.

Julieth, an 18-year-old psychology student; Hayder Fonseca, 17 and father of a 7-month-old baby; Julian, 27 and an engineer; Germán Puentes, 25 and domiciled; Angie Paola, 19; Fredy Alexander, 17, and Andrés Felipe, 23, are the 7 people who lost their lives on Wednesday during the riots in Bogotá.

Cristian Andrés, Larwan Estiben and another person who has not yet been recognized also died in Soacha.

The protest that began as a sit-in in the CAI of Villa Luz, where Javier Ordoñez was led, ended in serious disturbances and attacks.

Uniformed with the available force and Esmad endured aggression with stones and sticks for more than an hour.

The mob that broke into the CAI – mostly armored – entered, attacked the police and finally set fire to the facilities.

On public roads there were also violent attacks: a patrolman was knocked off his motorcycle when he was traveling to support other colleagues.

For their part, the authorities are investigating excesses committed by police officers, such as those who traveled by motorcycle, approached a young man and gave him a severe beating.

In front of the CAI of the Ruby neighborhood, in Suba Rincón, there was a shooting that is the subject of an investigation and that left one person dead and other injuries.

Other images, which are in the possession of the Prosecutor’s Office, show a man close to the police who shoots at the mob and then hands his gun to one of the uniformed men, who also shoots.

These attacks were compounded by the burning of 8 Transmilenio buses and damage to at least 70 private vehicles.

However, several people came out to support the police in the CAI and, very early on, other citizens cleaned up the wreckage of the previous night and made it viral on social networks.

Amid the chaos, a man who had been captured was beaten on his legs by a policeman, but an Esmad agent who was carrying him angrily claimed him and did not allow him to attack him again.
