Miami Beach City Police (United States) found the famous Colombian-American DJ Erick Morillo, 49, dead in his home.
The discovery occurred on the morning of this Tuesday, September 1, after a call made to the emergency services (911) at 10:42 am, local time (9:42 am, in Colombia).
“The call was made from the artist’s home, on La Gorce Drive (…) The circumstances surrounding his death are not clear,” said Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodríguez.
The Univision network, for its part, reported that no “signs of murder or violence” were recorded at the scene. and that the Miami Dade County coroner’s office will be in charge of determining the causes of death.
Morillo’s death comes almost a month after he was arrested for a sexual assault case with which he is accused.

The DJ and producer became world famous in 1993, thanks to the song ‘I like to move it’, which has Latin house influences mixed with reggae vocals and is performed by Trinidad and Tobago native rapper Mark Quashie.

Judicial mess
On August 6, Morillo was arrested and charged with sexual assault against a woman.
The events, local media reported at the time, occurred in December 2019, at the DJ’s home.

According to the victim, the man tried “to make various advances, some of a sexual nature,” but she refused.

Morillo was born in New York (USA), in March 1971, and He lived in Cartagena for 4 years (from 4 to 10), because his mother was born there.
