Through a decree, the Mayor’s Office of Cartagena enabled the opening of Playa Blanca, in Barú. The spa can receive a maximum of 1,000 visitors but it will not be possible to stay overnight.
It is a hybrid model in which tourists can choose whether to be in restaurants or on the beaches.
According to El Universal, About 70 establishments located in the area have already received approval from the authorities. In addition, 1,800 linear meters were enabled to operate, from the Las Cuevas sector.
The hours of operation will be from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon and access to the place will be by reservation, as has been done in other spas such as Bocagrande and La Boquilla.

“The opening of the pilot is given with certain protocol measures to protect natives and visitors from possible infections by Covid-19, with a hybrid model between the beach protocol and the restaurant protocol. In other words, when entering the beach area, the visitor will be able to choose in which of the shops they wish to spend their stay, ”says the Mayor of Cartagena.
