Given these events, the director of RCN News, Juan Lozano, spoke with President Iván Duque. One of the questions that he asked the president referred to the victims.
They have accused him of not having empathy with the victims, of not having approached the victims. How has your relationship with them been?
Duque affirmed that he has met and spoken with relatives of the victims of these events, as well as he has visited many of the police officers who have been injured after the clashes with the vandals in recent days.
“I had a conversation that had a great impact on me with Don Harold, the father of Julieth Ramírez, one of the girls who died,” said the Head of State. “I am shocked by these testimonies. When you have these kinds of conversations, you don’t do them for the cameras and microphones to see,” added Duque.

“Empathy is not to seek applause and that the cameras reflect it to try to look good, no. Empathy is human and it is human without seeking to take political advantage of it,” concluded President Iván Duque
