A landslide that occurred on the Uramita – Dabeiba highway, which leads to Antioquia Urabá, has this area of western Antioquia in emergency.
The preliminary balance is of three deceased people and at least 12 missing. However, the Administrative Department of the Disaster Prevention, Attention and Recovery System (Dapard) indicated that Due to the weather conditions and the darkness in the area, no search or verification work could be carried out.
For his part, the governor of Antioquia, Aníbal Gaviria is at the scene of the incident with the director of Dapard, Jaime Enrique Gómez Zapata, and the secretary of Physical Infrastructure, Juan Pablo López, to assess the situation and its consequences.“We are making progress in consolidating the report of damages caused by rains in the last hours in Dabeiba. Personnel and machinery attend to the situation and, given the complexity of the emergency, we have requested support from the Air Force,” said the departmental president.

According to preliminary versions, they have already found two bodies of the deceased, which would be a girl and her mother.
The villages of Button, Mohán and El Cajón, in that municipality, were affected by the landslide, for which the inhabitants had to be evacuated from the area, which is unstable.
By means of three helicopters, two from the Antioquia Government and one from the Colombian Air Force, the evacuation of people located in high mountain areas is being supported at this time.
As explained by the Governor of Antioquia, “this is a first urgent care front that was decided for this emergency. The other front has the objective of evacuating the vehicles and families that live in the homes located near the road to Urabá. , which is obstructed, and the third front is responsible for removing the material so that the people who are located towards the Uramita sector go to Medellín and the people who are towards Dabeiba, go towards Urabá. “
Gaviria indicated that after the first census carried out, some 500 families would be trapped. “The census is being carried out in more detail, but due to the overflight we made, we can speak of more or less 500 families that with relief agencies we are evacuating and transferring to shelters defined in Dabeiba”, explained Gaviria.
The Municipal Council of Disaster Risk Management of Dabeiba has just confirmed the preliminary death of 3 people per torrential avenue and at least, according to firefighters, 12 more missing. We continue to support the municipality in attending the event

The situation generated a total closure on this road, so It is recommended to those who need to travel between Medellín and Urabá to suspend the trip until circulation on the road is enabled, because in the area there are still rains and falling material, which makes the terrain unstable.
