Emergency: Gigantic fire in Ingenio del Cauca – Cali – Colombia

On the morning of this Tuesday, December 15, a fire broke out in the Ingenio del Cauca (Incauca SA) near the distillery.

According to first reports, so far there are no injured people, no injuries or fatalities at the mill, whose sugar, alcohol, energy and compost production plants are located in El Ortigal, in Cauca. The offices are in Valle del Cauca.

The authorities are confirming the causes of this gigantic conflagration.

Fire brigades from the region traveled to the site, while people from the Ingenio who have received training in emergency brigades are supporting the work.

The Cali Fire Department reported: “They report a structural fire in the Cauca sugar mill and several fire brigades are on site, we are attentive to the call.”

According to the Cali Firefighters, seven machines from the Padilla Fire Department (north of Cauca), and from Florida and Candelaria, (south of the Valley) moved to the site.

“In Cali, the firefighters are attentive to give more support,” they added in the relief agency of the capital of Valle del Cauca.
