Brito was born in 1953 in a village of La Guajira called Treinta Tomarrazón. According to the report provided by the authorities, the truck in which they were traveling overturned on the road that connects the townships of San Roque and Rincón Hondo, jurisdiction of the township of San Roque, located in the municipality of Curumaní, south of Cesar.
