Through a virtual meeting, the Magdalena Sectional Prosecutor’s Office asked the Electricaribe company for an explanation for the death of José Miguel Dau, the dermatologist who died hours after the power service was cut in the Los Alcázares neighborhood, in the west of Santa Marta.

The Personería and the Defensoría del Pueblo are also in the case.

In the doctor’s house everything is pain and indignation. That is why his relatives are already preparing a formal complaint with their lawyers so that Electricaribe responds for this lost life.

“The Personería has already filed the complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office and we had a meeting with the Ombudsman’s Office; we have a buffet of lawyers, that of Dr. Abelardo de la Espriella, who is accompanying us,” said Luz Marina de Dau, the doctor’s wife passed away.

The Santa Marta Personería has already visited the house of the deceased and collects evidence to provide them to the Prosecutor’s Office.

“We hope that the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation determines if an unlawful damage was caused that caused or resulted in the death of a person,” said the representative Edward Orozco.

In the case of Carlos Infante, a Dau neighbor who also depends on an electric respirator to live, Electricaribe already went to his house and resolved his situation.

“Yes they reconnected the electricity to me and they made an observation, that they were going to place a meter in the corner of the pole that corresponds to me,” Infante himself assured.

After the complaint made in Noticias Caracol, Carlos, Infante was finally notified by Electricaribe that he will only pay for what his home consumes and not for estimated reading.

For now, there is only one slogan among the relatives of the doctor who died from this unexpected case and it is precisely that Electricaribe responds to them for this death, they also ask that the same not happen in other parts of Colombia.
