What are the established prices?

“As established in Resolution 000111 of December 11, 2020, ‘By which the value of the Tax Value Unit (UVT) applicable for the year 2020, issued by the DIAN, is set’, the value of this tax of stamp that is part of the total cost of passports issued in the national territory will be adjusted as of January 1, 2021 ″, reads the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.

In Bogotá, the cost of the ordinary passport was $ 169,000 and the executive was $ 259,000. In other parts of the country the cost may vary depending on the different departmental taxes, a value that must be consulted with the corresponding Government.

Did the procedures to get the passport change?

In December, the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs adopted new measures in the process to obtain or renew the Colombian passport. “Remember that no one is exempt from suffering a medical emergency abroad, that is why the importance of traveling insured, since hospitalization and medical treatment expenses generally must be borne by the patient and can have very high costs,” it reads in the statement.

When you process the insurance, check that it has full coverage in case of illness, accident during the trip, evacuation by ambulance plane and / or corpse repatriation. Also, that it has coverage in the countries that you are going to visit, even in those where you will make stops or will be for a short time.
