Edwin Caro, a policeman killed in a shooting in Bogotá

Edwin Caro, 24 years old, was a police officer for the Bogotá Metropolitan Area, however, this Wednesday a criminal took his life.

The events occurred this afternoon in the town of Chapinero, when a group of uniformed men was searching the place and intercepted two people. One of them objected and shot Caro, killing her.

After this action, a shooting began in this sector and there the criminal who murdered the uniformed man died. Minutes later, another uniformed man managed to capture the second criminal with illegal possession of weapons.

The director of the National Police, Major General Jorge Luis Vargas rejected “the vile murder of our comrade, the patrolman Edwin Caro, who offered his life while watched over the security and citizen coexistence“.

“To the family of our colleague, I want to express on behalf of all the women and men of the National Police my deepest condolences, our deep sorrow for the early departure. To Mrs. Odilia Gómez Zuleta, his mother: my solidarity, my accompaniment, my deep pain ”.
