While the senator of ‘the U’, Eduardo Pulgar, is asking that they give him house arrest, within the investigation for alleged influence peddling and bribery, in a plot connected with the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla, the Police have just made three arrests linked to the same case.
EL TIEMPO established that it captured, together with the Prosecutor’s Office, two judges and a Prosecutor, in operations carried out this afternoon in Santa Marta and Barranquilla.

Eduardo Pulgar’s defense requests that he be transferred from the place of detention for medical reasons.
Those arrested are Alberto Oyaga Machado, a municipal criminal judge with the function of controlling the Guarantees of Barranquilla; Rafael de Jesús Uribe Henriquez, municipal criminal judge with control function of Guarantees of Barranquilla, and Gustavo Adolfo Orozco Pertuz, sectional prosecutor of Barranquilla.

According to the investigation, those arrested had taken measures contrary to the law against the Acosta Bendek family, who are confronting their cousins for running that institution and the Metropolitan Hospital.
In fact, Senator Pulgar is imprisoned in La Picota for allegedly trying to favor the Acosta Bendeks by offering 200 bars to Judge Andrés Rodríguez Caes. But, paradoxically, the investigation that today has the two judges and the prosecutor behind bars, began with the complaint filed by Luis Fernando Acosta Osio, whom Senator Pulgar supposedly sought to favor.
In this regard, the record shows that a judge had to revoke everything that Judge Henríquez had acted on, related to the restoration of the right that he had pronounced in favor of Carlos Jaller Raad and others, considering that they reflected a direct violation of the Law. Jaller disputed the legal representation of the Metropolitan University with the Acosta.

In fact, the former minister Yaneth Giha was summoned to testify by the Court regarding the double registration of representatives of that institution.
Andrés Fernando Rodríguez Caez is the former judge who did not allow himself to be bribed.
Currently the judicial officials and the prosecutor captured were in the exercise of their functions in the city of Barranquilla.

As for Pulgar, his defense, the criminal Jaime Granados, asked for a legality check of the assurance measure. And furthermore, you are asking that your client be sent home for medical reasons.
