In the last ‘early morning’ of the year in San Victorino, hundreds of people came to do their last Christmas shopping, without caring about the overflowing crowds that have been presented throughout the morning and the possible risk of contracting coronavirus.
Paradoxically, many people have not been responsible with the proper use of the mask. Dozens of them have been seen with that element under their nose and even their mouth, something that has been repeated ad nauseam that is wrong.
The shopping centers in that sector of downtown Bogotá are complying with the peak and certificate and the biosafety protocols to prevent the number of customers in their facilities from exceeding the allowed capacity. However, The same has not happened with the informal vendors who have their stalls set up in the narrow streets of San Victorino.
The Mayor’s Office of Bogotá has been present in the place since the early hours of the morning to ensure order and responsibility in that part of the city, But the number of people present has made the work difficult for the officials that the District ordered during the day.
Mayor Claudia López has insisted this week that San Victorino and the center of Bogotá are not critical points in terms of the spread of the coronavirus. The president has indicated that the highest contagion speed is occurring in the northern and western towns of the city.
“Although people are very focused on San Victorino, the contagion is not growing in the center or in Los Mártires, the contagion is growing especially in the north and west of the city. Do not take Saint Victorino as a scapegoat. There is more agglomeration there, without a doubt, and we have made a great effort to organize formal and informal commerce, ”said López in an interview with Blu Radio.
Here are some videos of the agglomerations that have been presented in San Victorino in the last early hours of the year:
