President Iván Duque traveled urgently to the city of Quibdó this Monday at 10:50 p.m. The displacement of the Head of State makes it impossible to meet with the Indigenous Minga that is in Bogotá and that this Monday copied the Plaza de Bolívar.

The House of Nariño, however, justified the trip by the urgent need to “carry out a review of security in this region of the country, attending to citizen complaints, and evaluate the scope of the social investment that is being carried out”.

The President spent the night at the facilities of the Army’s 15th Brigade, located in the capital of Chocó.

In addition to not being in Bogotá for a possible meeting with the natives who arrived from Cauca, the President will not attend the signing of the act of initiation of the Bogotá Metro works, an act that was scheduled for 8:00 in the morning with Live broadcast via local television and social media.

There, a meeting between the Head of State and Mayor Claudia López was expected at a time when there have been differences over the management given to the Minga. The House of Nariño confirmed that Duque will not attend the event.

The Head of State, meanwhile, informed the Presidency, made a tour of the San Vicente neighborhood, where he had some meetings with residents of this area.

As part of this Government agenda, This Tuesday, October 20, the president will lead a strategic security meeting, starting at 8:00 am

This meeting will take place in a first part with military and Police authorities. Later, local authorities will join this meeting.

At the end of this meeting, the President will offer the conclusions of the conference in Quibdó, which will be broadcast through the website and social networks of the Presidency of the Republic.
