The Ministry of Health reported, this November 3, 6,136 new cases of coronavirus in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 38,233 tests were processed, 26,108 are PCR and 12,125 antigens.
The report also indicates that the death toll is 177. Today, the country reaches a total of 31,847 deaths since the virus reached the national territory.
Colombia reached 1,099,392 infected of which 71,165 are active cases and 993,877 correspond to positive cases that have already managed to overcome the disease.
Regarding the contagions of covid-19 by cities and departments of the country, Antioquia and Bogotá continue to lead, followed by Huila, Valle del Cauca and Caldas.
There are 1,452 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia, Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Boyacá, Bolívar, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, North from Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle, Vaupés, Vichada, Guaviare and Guainía.
Bill seeks to center the system on the patient: Minsalud
The Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, explained the bill 010 with which it is intended to make adjustments to the General System of Social Security in Health in order to guarantee the fundamental right of all Colombians. This, within the framework of the public hearing for discussion and voting of bills in the Seventh Committee of the Senate of the Republic.
“The National Government has decided to include an urgent message in the search to establish and define the needs that our health system should have in the future for the area we are proposing”said the minister, who added that the project seeks a transformation of the system, but does not seek a new health system because the current one has obtained many achievements.
Among the achievements Ruiz mentioned having passed in three decades from 29 to 96% in universal coverage, which nowadays no country in Latin America has; high financial protection, only 16% of health spending is paid out of pocket by Colombians, in 2008 it was 44%; greater access to services and ownership of the concept of the right to health.
As well as advances in the unification of the basic plan, creation of a strengthened pharmaceutical policy, reduction of infant mortality and extension of life expectancy.
