This was confirmed by Rosa Cárdenas, a resident of the sector, who reported that since last November 25, Canine corpses began to appear with signs of abuse.
The woman told El Tiempo that “the first dogs that died were killed with a stick; others were poisoned; and, there are even those who denounce that they threw poison to the dogs that were in the terraces, inside the houses of their owners, to kill them ”.
The witness affirms that the events continued in the days after the first report, but that the authorities paid no attention to the case.
“On November 26 we alerted some patrol cars. We took them to where the dead dogs were and asked for help. They responded that since there was no certainty who had done it, it was very difficult to act, “he said.
Rosa Cárdenas also expressed to RCN Radio her concern about the risk that traces of poisoned food could represent for children in the area.
“The anguish is that, just as they poisoned the animals and threw food at them, suddenly a child can pick it up and consume it. Here we do not have drinking water, it is from a source and is handled by hose. The tank does not have a lid and it is very dangerous, ”he said.
Faced with the complaints, the Prosecutor’s Office announced investigations to clarify the facts and find those responsible for what happened.
