The Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla, through a statement to the public, “energetically” rejected the attack against the pediatrician Dalila Peñaranda Fairuth and her domestic worker, who appeared in a residential complex in the north of the city.
As stated by the district administration, it has been providing support in the complaint and requested that a prosecutor be assigned to hear the case.
“The District, together with the Police authorities and the COVID patrols, accompanied the victim to file the complaint to find those responsible and requests the authorities and security agencies to carry out the respective investigations and find the whereabouts of the aggressors, ”the document reads.
Likewise, the Mayor’s Office requested that “the speedy recovery of the people who were affected in this event be expected and offers all support in this process before the respective authorities.”
On the other hand, the district administration confirmed that the festivities are prohibited and that those “who violate this measure will find authorities ready to act. You cannot play with the suffering of the families that lost a loved one or jettison the city’s efforts to regain its normality ”.
The District also called for respect and healthy coexistence among citizens, being emphatic that “facts such as those registered cannot be presented.”
