A new element is added to all the controversy generated by the appointment of Cynthia Pérez Amador as First Lady of the District.
It was learned that after a request made by the Mayor’s Office of Internal Control, the Regional University Corporation of the Caribbean Iafic, denied the issuance of the degree certificate that Pérez Amador had presented to the administration.
“From Human Talent they asked us to review the documents that Mrs. Cynthia had provided to the contract she had signed, there appears a degree certificate from Iafic where she says that she studied a technology in business administration, we made several requirements to the corporation and today they issued us a certification stating that the document they provided is not authentic nor does it rest in their files, ”said Juan Carlos Frías, head of Internal Control. In its reply, Iafic indicated that the business administration program offered and developed for the time by the corporation obeys the modality of professional technical higher education and not that of a technologist, so the title presented by Pérez Amador does not correspond to one issued by that corporation.
“The document presented by you called Degree Act 3204 of July 20, 2008 does not correspond to the reality of the information stored in our academic files in its content or in its signatures,” the response reads.
El Universal contacted Cynthia Pérez to find out her position on the matter but stated that she would not give a statement.
This is the letter issued by Iafic.
