On February 8, 9 and 10, the preparatory hearing for the trial against Cadena and his partner, lawyer Juan José Salazar, was cited.

The information was published by journalist Daniel Coronell, who added that this jet Private, which on paper belongs to the Cadena Ramírez brothers, is for sale for a price presumably lower than the market price

Cepeda, Montealegre, Bejarano and Villalba tell the Prosecutor that Cadena allegedly used that plane to go looking for false testimonies.

“Apparently, the testimonies and statements that are the object of the investigation were not only obtained in the prisons of the national territory, but also outside of it.
Presumably, to carry out these illegal activities, Mr. Diego Javier Cadena Ramírez, for his trips, used his private plane, “says the request filed in the Barbosa prosecutor’s office.

‘My fortune is legal’

At the time, when EL TIEMPO revealed Cadena’s fortune (including the plane), the lawyer assured that its origin was legal.

“All my properties have been acquired legitimately,” Cadena emphasized at the time.

In fact, the lawyer – who also had a clothing manufacturing business located in Tuluá, Valle – affirmed that the Constitution and the law protect his investments.

The information about his assets is verified by the authorities in order to know the origin of the money with which Cadena financed the payments to the witnesses and several trips abroad to interview narco-paramilitaries.
