The family of María Paula Chávez Villamizar recovered their happiness when the young woman appeared safe and sound yesterday, December 16, at the CAI of Samper Mendoza, in the center of Bogotá after having fled from his apartment on 143rd Street 9-55, in Cedritos, Usaquén.

That happened on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at about 6:15 in the afternoon when his parents left the house for a few moments to buy him an ice cream in Carulla.

Today with her daughter again in the bosom of her home his father, Jorge Hernán Chávez Camargo, wants to give a meaningful message to all the parents of the country. “I want to first thank EL TIEMPO and other media because thanks to that pressure, the people with whom the girl was scared and ended up abandoning her in a CAI.”

As he said in an interview with EL TIEMPO, the greatest lesson that all this leaves behind is the control that parents must have over the technological means that children manipulate today. “Sadly, we believe that we make a child happy by giving them a cell phone or a computer, when in reality we are opening the doors of our homes and our children to any type of person for infinite purposes.”

He added that “I remember that in my time, when as a child my mother told me: that friendship does not suit you … 100% of the time I was right, with social networks now one as a father does not even know who the friends of their children and that is very complicated ”.

As he explained, the authorities are still working on the case, for now, fortunately, it is known that the minor was not abused. “She does not remember their names or where she was, the latter I believe because she does not know the city and gets lost in the same neighborhood, but people did meet them through social networks, I am sure of that. Thank God the medical tests reveal that there was no type of carnal or drug abuse ”.

For now, the girl is undergoing psychological treatment with professionals from the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (Icbf). “They will get a little more information out of you. For now it is a joint effort between them and us as a family, “said Chávez who added:” The message is clear: take care of your children on social networks.
