The first thing the president said is that the Formal Employment Support Program (PAEF), designed to subsidize 40% of the legal minimum wage in force for workers of companies that have seen their turnover affected by 20%, will be extended for now until December , but the idea is that it also applies during the first three months of next year.
“I want to tell Colombians that in the process that is being held in Congress, the decision that we have made in the Government is to extend that subsidy until March 2021,” said Duque, who also affirmed that the measure would benefit more than three million of employees.
Regarding the December premium, the President announced that the Government will subsidize 50% of this payment. The aid for companies will be directed to employees who earn one million pesos.
In addition, it will be for companies that have seen their turnover affected by 20% or more due to the crisis.

The president emphasized that for this measure the same conditions that were taken with the June premium subsidy will apply, that is, the companies that wish to request it must meet the stipulated requirements to access the payroll subsidy. Here you can consult them.
However, during his speech, the president did not clarify whether this time he will apply again the option for employers to pay this responsibility with their workers in installments.
Finally, the President informed that the solidarity income will be extended until June 2021 “so that it is also part of the reactivation tools,” he concluded.
