On the last day of the year, Bogotá presented a historical number of new cases of coronavirus.

Bogotá closes the year with a less than encouraging figure. On December 31, the National Institute of Health reported that Bogotá had 6,244 new cases of covid-19.
These are added to the 35,934 active cases that were registered in SaludData as of December 30.

Further, Bogotá reports 87 deaths in the consolidated statement of December 31 (It must be taken into account that some of the deceased correspond to deaths from previous days). Thus, the total number of deaths from covid-19 in the country’s capital remains at 9,788.
These figures are, in fact, given on the day the country registered the highest number of new cases. According to the report, in the last 24 hours, 16,314 new infections were confirmed after processing 83,539 tests. In total, 304 new deaths were known in the country.
