He National Department of Statistics (DANE) reported that 25,060 deaths correspond to suspected and confirmed cases of coronavirus.
In the COVID-19 death report, DANE revealed that the highest mortality from the pandemic in Colombia is registered in the poorest population.

The report indicates that the population group with the highest percentage of deaths corresponds to men over 60 years of age.
While the peak of mortality from natural causes in Colombia, according to DANE, was presented in the week of July 27 and August 2, right in the middle of the pandemic.

In that week they were registered 1,866 confirmed deaths and 814 deaths related to COVID-19.
The director of DANE, Juan Daniel Oviedo clarified that these records of deaths due to coronavirus correspond to 34% of all deaths from natural causes.
