The previous days received some criticism from the public taking into account that the country is going through a difficult situation due to the covid-19 pandemic.
However, some of the main cities of the country have had different measures to prevent biosafety protocols from being breached and the day to guarantee its final objective, which is to encourage trade.
In the case of Bucaramanga, for example, commercial establishments will be allowed to operate 24 hours from midnight on Saturday until 11:59 pm on the same day.
This measure is exclusive for commercial establishments, it does not include other activities such as bars, restaurants, shops or soda fountains.

In addition, the face-to-face sale of electrical appliances, computers and communications equipment is suspended in all the commercial establishments of the municipality considered large surfaces. These devices can only be sold through virtual or non-face channels.
The Mayor’s Office announced that this Saturday no additional restrictive measures such as ‘pico y cédula’ or ‘pico and gender’ will be implemented.
For its part, in Medellín there will be no measure other than those established by the National Government. The mayor, Daniel Quintero Calle, recalled that the sale of home appliances, computers and communications equipment in person at chain stores, so transactions will be limited to the digital field, as will be done throughout the country.
“The delivery will not be all at the same time, but they will be able to collect it in a staggered manner in the following 15 days, so that people do not accumulate,” said Quintero.

Regarding the balance of the past days without ÏVA in the city, it should be remembered that this same methodology was applied in July, when face-to-face sales of electrical appliances, computers and communications equipment were suspended in all commercial establishments during this day in the 10 municipalities of the Aburrá valley.
In this sense, the idea was for buyers to make transactions online and schedule the receipt of products in the next two weeks, as will be done this time. At the time, there were no major problems and the authorities gave a positive balance of citizen behavior. According to Fenalco Antioquia, 75 percent of the purchases were through the virtual channels of the stores and the remaining 25 were in person.
In contrast, during the first day without VAT, Medellín put at risk what was earned in almost 100 days to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Since the dawn of that Friday, June 19, in the chain stores there were long lines of people in the income and crowds inside of people looking to take advantage of the offers.
A balance of 172 fined, two closed stores, and some 48,900 buyers left the first day in the Antioquia capital. In total, 42 commercial establishments were open to the public that day.

An opportunity for Barranquilla
From the mayor of Barranquilla this new day is seen as an opportunity to continue reactivating the local economy and, in turn, a vote of confidence to the Barranquilla residents who have demonstrated exemplary behavior over the last few months.
The Secretary of Economic Development, Ricardo Plata, invited Barranquilleros to take advantage of the benefits of this national strategy, either virtually, or in the establishment, always respecting biosecurity and self-care measures.
“We will be extremely careful with regard to the remote sale of electrical appliances, compliance with the MinSalud resolutions for each economic activity and the relevant awareness and surveillance actions to ensure the success of the day,” said the official.

For this day, a series of security measures are being planned that will be applied. To this end, the Government Secretariat, the Office for Citizen Security and Coexistence and the Covid patrol will implement control operations at key points, in order to control the capacity of commercial establishments and avoid crowds.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, said that for this new day without VAT, “we want to invite commercial areas to extend their hours. We We will be on the ground ensuring control of the agglomerations. We have also decided to expand the MIO service. “
The president pointed out that with the city’s Health Secretariat he will be careful that the day does not involve crowds with risks of contagion of coronavirus.
For this reason, he insisted on the extension of the hours to avoid concentrations of people.
The MIO bus service runs until 10:30 at night.

In Cartagena, the business requested the support of the authorities to ensure security conditions as well as collective mobility, not only on this day, but also in the possible days of additional extended hours that the city aspires to celebrate in December as usual, under the Cartagena Despierta scheme.
This Saturday the extended hours of shopping centers will be until 10 at night.
