A day without adults. That is the proposal that the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá is studying and that aims for children to be the protagonists and take, for a day, the reins of the city. Although it is still an idea that is being analyzed, for some Bogota councilors the proposal is unnecessary.
During the delivery of a new school, the mayor of the capital, Claudia López, assured that she had received several proposals from the children’s advisory council. “Bogotá has a day without a car, for example, we want to make a day without adults, a day in which the city is driven by boys and girls. It seems to me an extraordinary idea and we are working on that, ”said the president.
Although it is only an idea, López’s statements caused a stir, because for some councilors, thinking about implementing that day is unnecessary. “With so many problems to solve and Claudia López playing mayor. How long will he continue to improvise? ”Councilor Carolina Arbeláez (Radical Change) said on Twitter.
The lobbyist also said that instead of having a day without adults, a safety day should be held. “Why better not propose a day of security in which citizens can feel safe when going out,” he concluded.

On the other hand, councilor Humberto Amín (Democratic Center), also said he did not agree with the idea. “Mayor Claudia López surprises us more every day, now she wants to have the day without adults. Now what is he going to come out with? ”He said in a trill.
Despite the criticism, the president spoke again about it and in fact assured that she would do everything possible to carry out the proposal. “Among the proposals they made us is that for at least one day all adults stop, listen to them and allow ourselves to be educated by them on issues such as parks, the environment, education, and new technologies. We are going to meet them and organize the day that children educate us! ”He said on Twitter.
Although the details behind the proposal are not yet known, it is expected that in the next few days the district administration will announce whether or not it will accept the request.
