The confrontation between Mayor William Dau and District Controller Freddys Quintero continues. Through a video, the president revealed a recording in which an alleged act of corruption committed by the official is heard.
Dau explains that he received the citizen complaint on October 14, accompanied by a recording in which Quintero’s voice was apparently heard making statements with possible criminal connotations.
“As it is my duty, I informed the Prosecutor’s Office of these facts (the recording) and now I am making them known to you so that you can draw your own conclusions,” says Dau in the video.
According to the president, what is contained in the recording shows that “Freddys Quintero was elected by the same councilors who participated in the election of Nubia Fontalvo” and that he was also supported by councilor David Caballero “because he had the evidence of an alleged robbery committed by David Caballero’s wife, who was a manager at Corvivienda ”.

According to Dau, Freddys Quintero was seeking the necessary support from councilors to stay in office as incumbent.

The mayor’s complaint goes beyond the recording as it also reveals the alleged appointments that Quintero made within the District Comptroller’s Office.
“Gerleis Pérez Padilla, current partner of Freddys Quintero, named her as a plant. She came in first with an OPS and now she is on the floor, ”explains Dau.
“Freddys Quintero who has a straw tail is you, not the administration of ‘Salvemos Juntos a Cartagena’. Who is the scoundrel is you, “” says the president.
The recording that already exceeds 15 thousand reproductions raises a new controversy around the relationship between the Dau administration and the control entity.
Dau criticizes the investigation that Quintero carried out against the contract of high confidence that the first lady Cynthia Pérez had and the suspension of the position of Diana Martínez as General Secretary.
“In an arbitrary act, clearly illegal, because there is no one to appeal to and it is final. Because Freddys Quintero has autonomy, he abused his power, ”added Dau, who announced that although he will proceed to liquidate the First Lady’s contract, he will defend“ the legality of his actions ”before the competent authorities.
On September 22, the District Comptroller of Cartagena opened a lawsuit of fiscal responsibility, with criminal and disciplinary scope against officials of the Mayor’s Office of Cartagena, after signing a report of alleged patrimonial detriment that would have been incurred with the contract of the First Lady of the District, Cynthia Pérez Amador.
