Dates and times that the Government authorized to cross the Line

The Government, through the Ministry of Transport and Invías, announced that, in order to stimulate the economy of the Coffee Region from the tourism sector, It will make the closing hours of the La Línea corridor (Cajamarca – Calarcá) more flexible during the Christmas and New Year dates. Not every day private vehicles will be able to pass.

This is done after a landslide was recorded on December 9 at kilometer 38 + 900 of that road corridor, as indicated by the Transportation portfolio in a press release.

The Ministry established the following dates and specified what type of vehicles are authorized to travel through La Línea on specific days and times.

December 21 and 22 Cargo and passenger transport, between 6 am and 5 pm (There is no passage for private vehicles).
December 23, 24, 25 and 27 Transportation of passengers and private vehicles, between 6 am and 5 pm
Dec 26 Transportation of cargo and passengers, between 6 am and 5 pm (There is no passage for private vehicles).
December 28 and 29 Transportation of cargo and passengers, between 6 am and 5 pm (There is no passage for private vehicles).
December 30, 31, January 1 and 3 Transportation of passengers and private vehicles, between 6 am and 5 pm
January 2 Cargo and passenger transport, between 6 am and 5 pm (There is no passage for private vehicles).
January 8, 10 and 11 Transportation of passengers and private vehicles, between 6 am and 5 pm
January 9th Cargo and passenger transport, between 6 am and 5 pm (There is no passage for private vehicles).

Discount on the La Línea toll

Both for cargo and passenger transport vehicles, the Government authorized a 50% discount on the La Línea toll. The measure will take effect on December 21 and will run until December 31.

“For the national government, the reactivation of the economy and tourism in the regions is very important, that is why this Christmas, New Year and Three Kings Bridge season we have decided to make the closing hours that have been implemented in the road and allow the circulation of private vehicles and public passenger transport through the Calarcá – Cajamarca corridor, as long as the security conditions in the area allow it ”, said the Minister of Transport, Ángela María Orozco Gómez.
