Santiago García Carmona was sentenced to 34 years in prison, who murdered the young Daniela Quiñones, a student at Eafit University, in the municipality of Marmato, in western Caldas, on June 14.

According to the investigation, García Carmona offered to take the student home after a party, For this reason, from the beginning, he became the main suspect and was even deprived of liberty since June 18.
At the time, the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that when the young woman refused to have sexual relations with the man, he held her by force and before Daniela’s reaction, he attacked her in the head with a knife, causing her death in the site and later threw the body into the Cauca River.

The body of the victim was found on the banks of the Cauca river in the Tunis parcel, in La Pintada (Antioquia), 500 meters from the entrance to Marmato.
