Cycling World Cup: men’s time trial results

Daniel Felipe Martínez represented Colombia in the time trial of the Cycling World Cup and he did not do so badly. The Soacha-born cyclist improved on what he did in last year’s edition when he finished in 30th place and this time he got into the ‘top’ 20, ranking at position 18.

The Colombian gave in goal one minute and 52 seconds compared to Italian Filippo Ganna, who was crowned world champion and he succeeded the Australian Rohan Dennis, who had won the gold medal in 2018 and 2019. What was done by the European was historic since, for the first time, Italy achieved victory in this modality.

Martinez was also in the news this Friday because the Ineos team confirmed him as one of their new riders for next season. In this way, the current champion of the Critérium del Dauphiné and winner of stage 13 of the last Tour de France he is leaving the Education First team, which he has been on for the past three years.

Daniel Felipe will be part of the national team that on Sunday morning will start the men’s elite event of the Cycling World Cup, which has 260 kilometers of route. The Colombian team is also made up of: Rigoberto Urán, Sergio Higuita, Sergio Luis Henao, Miguel Ángel López, Esteban Chaves, Harold Tejada and Cristian Muñoz.
