The governor in charge of Antioquia
, Luis Fernando Suarez, He spoke about the end of the second quarantine for the life decreed in the department, which corresponded to the restrictions for the sub-regions of the Aburrá Valley and eastern Antioquia on the Reyes bridge.

According to Suárez, the continuity of these measures will be analyzed on Tuesday, the date on which Governor Aníbal Gaviria is reinstated, who, he said, was in isolation due to a COVID-19 contagion from someone in his family.

In addition, as Noticias Caracol had already said, the hospital red alert – which restricts non-urgent medical interventions – it will be extended for “eight or ten more days.”

“The measure, with absolute certainty, will be extended with eight or ten more days, due to the occupation of ICU beds and the shortage of medicines,” he said.

And he stressed that, to solve the high occupancy of ICU beds, it has been decided to move to the Aburrá Valley and to the east some beds that were not necessary in Bajo Cauca and Magdalena Medio, where COVID-19 has decreased.
