The curfew as well as the peak and ID, implemented during the mandatory preventive quarantine due to the covid-19 pandemic, will cease to apply in Cali as of September 1, when the selective isolation phase begins in Colombia.
Argemiro Cortés, secretary of Municipal Economic Development, confirmed the determination this Sunday and called on the public to take strict biosafety and self-care measures to prevent the spread of covid-19 infections during the economic reactivation.
“We are waiting for the decree for Cali, but we have already discussed it with the Secretary of Government and with the Legal Director: as of September 1 we will not have a peak and a cedula or a curfew,” said the leader of the office.
He said that the city welcomes the instruction of the National Government that ordered to avoid restrictions on mobility to promote commercial activity that has been so affected by the health emergency.

He also warns that from next Tuesday “95% of economic activities will be able to develop and this implies a great risk because the covid-19 is present, it has not gone away and we have to be very responsible to avoid regrowth.”
He insisted that proper use of masks, constant hand washing and physical distancing are essential.
He also recalled that “the State will continue to prioritize teleworking, and that means that those who can avoid continuous contact, do so, thus preserving life, which is the most important thing.”
In the course of Monday, the measures for the so-called new normal will be announced, by municipal decree, but emphasized that national regulations still do not allow activities such as group sports, crowds of more than 50 people and the opening of discos.
“In Cali we will carry out a pilot plan starting this Thursday in the Alameda park area, which will extend to the Boulevard del Río. This will be done for 15 days to later take the necessary measures, “he said.
