Covid in Colombia: Government, ready measures for third peak – Government – Politics

EL TIEMPO was able to confirm, with sources from the Ministry of the Interior, that the national government is preparing a series of measures to face what will be the third picor the covid-19 in Colombia.

The new rules are being worked on between the Interior and Health ministries and the details of the same, as well as their officialization, would be announced this Sunday, April 4.

These measures are subject to the figures that are registered in the country (in terms of infections and deaths) in the next few hours.

Among other, would be implemented, at the national level and depending on how the covid is in each region, curfews, ‘pico y cédula’ and dry law.

Recently, and due to the increase in cases, the Mayor of Barranquilla extended the curfew, the dry law and the ‘pico y cédula’ until next Monday, April 12.

In Medellín and several municipalities of Antioquia (Barbosa, Copacabana, Girardota, Bello, Envigado, Itagüí, Sabaneta, La Estrella, Caldas, El Carmen de Viboral, El Retiro, Santuario, Guarne, La Ceja, Marinilla, La Unión, Rionegro and San Vicente) there will also be a curfew and dry law between Monday 5 and Friday April 9, every day from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am

In the rest of the municipalities of the department, the curfew and the dry law will be between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am the next day.

Until this Saturday, April 3, the country has a total of 2,437,197 contagions (since March 2020). Of these, 2,309,356 are already recovered and 55,547 are still active.

Deaths from the pandemic already total 63,932.

As has been known, for the moment, general quarantines are not contemplated, but specific measures.
