President Iván Duque announced this Sunday from the island of Providencia, that before the appearance of a new strain of coronavirus, the National Government decided to restrict flights from Colombia to the United Kingdom and those from that nation to our country.

The president said that it is an eminently preventive measure.
In that sense, the president said that “As of this Monday, flights from Colombia to the United Kingdom or from the United Kingdom to Colombia will be suspended.”
He also said that those who arrive in the country and have been in that nation in the last 14 days “will enter into isolation for 14 days in our country.”
He also noted that people who have arrived in Colombia from the United Kingdom in the last eight days “They must also be in isolation for 14 days.”

He also said that those who have been in that nation for more than nine days will be contacted to follow up in case they have any symptomatic situation.
“These measures, again, are preventive; They are not to generate panic or generate any situation of concern in the public. They are preventive measures that are adopted responsibly and that what they seek is to exercise better epidemiological control, “the president reiterated.

High positivity
President Duque also referred to the figures on contagion known this Sunday and said that the positivity of 25 percent, “the highest positivity in recent days“.
In this sense, he insisted that the National Government, given the considerable increase in cases in several cities, will take measures with local governments, such as restrictions and even the curfew.
