Covid-19 in the Atlantic: 418 new cases and six deaths

The new coronavirus infections in Barranquilla and the Atlantic registered a rise this Thursday, according to the directive bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health.

According to the report, in the capital of the department there were 301 new cases and four deaths, while in the rest of the department the infections were 117 and two deaths in the municipality of Soledad.

Meanwhile, at the national level, Colombia added 7,778 new infections this Thursday by coronavirus, figure with which it touches 1.4 million cases, while adding another 176 deaths on this day, according to the report of the Ministry of Health.

In total, the country has accumulated since March, when the first contagion was reportedor, 1,339,911 positives and 38,484 deaths from covid-19.

The daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health registered the largest number of cases on this day in Bogotá and the department of Antioquia, regions in which there were 2,308 and 1,271 respectively.

They also had high numbers Cauca’s Valley (968), Bolívar (458), Santander (391) and Cundinamarca (211).

With these figures, the places that accumulate the most contagions are still Bogotá (397,285), Antioquia (225,712), Valle del Cauca (117,241), Atlántico (81,376), Santander (57,176) and Cundinamarca (56,224).

Of the total confirmed cases, 61,686 are still active, which corresponds to 4.41%, while 1,296,420 appear as recovered, that is, 92.61%.

The deaths reported on this day, of which 160 occurred in previous days, They were in Norte de Santander (27), Valle del Cauca (26), Bogotá (22), Tolima (18), Antioquia (15), Risaralda (11), Santander (9) and Nariño (8).

The other deaths were recorded in Caldas and Bolívar (5); La Guajira and Huila (4); Boyacá and Meta (3); Caquetá, Casanare and Quindío (2), and Arauca, Cesar, Guaviare and San Andrés (1).

This Thursday 60,431 samples were processed, 36,866 of them were PCR and 23,565 antigens, for a total of 6.91 million tests performed.
