From Ibagué, where he participated in the Asocapitales Summit, President Iván Duque again referred to the arrival of the covid-19 vaccine in our country and delivered a piece of reassurance to Colombians who are interested in getting vaccinated.
“No one here is going to be left without timely care in the vaccination system,” said the president, who anticipated that the idea is for this process to begin in the first quarter of 2021.
Duque recalled that the Colombian government is betting on the acquisition of vaccines, not only through multilateral mechanisms, but also in bilateral negotiations.
“The reason we are not showing off is because Until each negotiation is one hundred percent closed, we will not disclose it because many of these conversations are transacted through confidentiality agreements, “the President stressed.

“The message is vaccination, and vaccination financed by the State”, said the president, who recalled that the State has to make risky investments due to the circumstances we face today, which are not the same as when there is a consolidated vaccine.
In that sense, the president recalled that this Wednesday he sanctions the vaccine law, which gives the Government “a tool” to overcome this particular situation.
Anyway, Duque said that “vaccines should be voluntary” and he stressed that in this sense persuasion is better than imposition and asserted that in what has to do with pedagogy and logistics, the idea of this is to work it hand in hand with the municipal secretariats.
The president also anticipated that “there are already some logistics scenarios”, depending on the degree of refrigeration of each of the vaccines that have the highest certification.
