What should have been a simple family visit ended up costing the lives of a couple from Chicago, United States, after contracting covid-19. Now, her son hopes that what happened will serve as a reminder of how easy it is to catch coronavirus. At the end of November, Carol Bruno arrived with her daughter at the apartment of Bruno, her son, to cut the latter’s hair. Before the visit, the sister, who works in a beauty salon, underwent a coronavirus test that came back negative, CNN reported. In addition, he had been in quarantine, something that, for the family, was an indication that it was safe to reunite. Carol, on the other hand, had hardly left the house.
During the visit, the family wore masks and avoided hugging. They also made sure Carol sits near the windows as an added precaution. All to make sure to reduce the chances of a possible contagion.

One day after the meeting, Bruno’s sister started showing symptoms of covid-19. Soon after, mother and son began to feel bad.
Carol Bruno was taken to a hospital on Thanksgiving, but was discharged that same week because her condition improved. Unfortunately, she had to return two days later and was hooked up to a ventilator. Soon after, her husband fell ill.
Mike Bruno did not accompany his wife to see their son, but he began to experience symptoms of Covid-19 and was admitted to a hospital about two weeks after Thanksgiving, Bruno said.

The day after her husband got a fan, Carol passed away. Nine days later, two days before Christmas, Mike also died.
“Even when we think we did everything right, we get infected,” Bruno said in conversation with the aforementioned media.
The young man hopes his family’s grief serves as a reminder of how easy it is to catch COVID-19, no matter how safe one feels.
