Coronavirus in Colombia: infections and deaths October 1, 2020 – Health

This Thursday the Ministry of Health delivered a new report on the situation of the coronavirus in Colombia. According to the report, in the last 24 hours 5,660 new infections were confirmed after processing 38,382 tests. With this figure, the country reaches a total of 835,339 cases.

Also, the health authority confirmed 198 more deaths. Of this number, 173 belong to previous days. The total number of deaths from covid-19 increases, then, to 26,196.

As for the recovered patients, 751,691 Colombians have managed to overcome the coronavirus. On the other hand, active confirmed cases continue to decline: at the moment there are 55,640.

Within the cities and departments with the most registered cases, Bogotá continues to lead the list with 1,324 cases reported in the last hours. In second place is Antioquia with 997; then there is the Valley with 563; It is followed by Cesar with 300 and in fifth place is Santander with 281 new infections.

Vaupés, Vichada, Chocó, Guaviare and Caquetá are among the places in the country with the fewest cases registered in the last 24 hours.

Worldwide, 34,029,923 people have been infected with coronavirus; 1,015,043 have died from covid-19 and 23,700,368 patients have recovered.
