Coronavirus in Colombia: cases in Corabastos de Bogotá – Bogotá

The Government Secretary, Luis Ernesto Gómez, confirmed an outbreak of covid-19 at two locations in warehouse 13 of the Corabastos supply center.

He noted that the situation arose because the biosecurity protocols established since the emergency began were not carried out, and for this reason the premises involved in the situation were sealed off.

Since one o’clock this Thursday afternoon, a cleaning and disinfection operation is being carried out and it is tracing what other people may have had contact with the virus.

Gomez said: “Corabastos is the heart (of Bogotá) and of all the municipalities bordering Bogotá, for this reason we ask for the highest standards of sanitary measures for the thousands of people who attend daily to stock up on their markets. Today, for neglecting preventive measures, unfortunately we must report an outbreak in Corabastos and a total of seven infected people. ”

He added that the preventive sealing of two commercial premises has already been made and announced, in addition, that any merchant who does not pay attention to the measures and recommendations decreed by the District in health matters risks a sealing.

A massive disinfection process was also ordered for the plaza. “On Saturdays, between 4 in the afternoon and 5 in the afternoon, there will be no food sales service because all commercial establishments will be in the process of disinfection.”
