Coronavirus in Colombia: cases and deaths today December 17 – Health

This Thursday the Ministry of Health delivered a new report on the situation of the coronavirus in Colombia. According to the report, in the last 24 hours, 12,196 new infections were confirmed after processing 63,939 tests. With this figure, the country reaches a total of 1,468,795 cases.

Also, the health authority confirmed 227 more deaths (203 belong to previous days) and 7,653 recovered. The total of deaths from covid-19 rises, then, to 39,787.

On the other hand, 1,343,819 Colombians have managed to overcome the coronavirus. In addition, the active cases confirmed for this December 17 are 81,142.

Since August 19, when the first peak of the pandemic in Colombia began to decline, the country had not registered more than 12,000 cases in one day.

According to the Minsalud report, Bogotá is the city that registered the most infections with 4,059; in second place is Antioquia with 1,839 and then Valle appears with 1,132.

Worldwide, 74,724,989 people have been infected with coronavirus; 1’657,706 have died from covid-19 and 42’193,884 patients have recovered.
