Mayor Claudia López announced this Sunday how the city will operate from tomorrow. He insisted on the compulsory use of face masks in public spaces, since failing to do so may incur a fine, and that the social distance must be a minimum of one meter between each person.

“We are going to organize the staggered exit of the 2.3 million people who are going to take to the streets, this was the order of the President and it is his responsibility, but it is our responsibility to take self-care measures,” López said.

“What is going to happen from now on is that half of the people in Bogotá are going to stay at home, but the other half is going to leave, so from now on we all have to behave as if we had coronaviruses, with that level of rigor and care, “said the president.

The mayor also explained to the public what the quarantine time has been spent on, clarifying that Bogotá went from 4 to 97 home care teams and that the city already has 565 ICU beds available exclusively for covid-19; In addition, he said that 2,500 tests are being carried out daily in the capital. “For that we needed his sacrifice to stay at home, this time has not been in vain, is it enough? No, ideally we have 1,000 ICUs,” he said.

In addition, the district secretary of Habitat, stated that so far more than 1,300 companies have registered in the city to start the application of protocols that allow their reopening, of these, more than 900 have already been verified, validated and certified.

“We are waiting for the rest of the companies to finish meeting some requirements,” said Rangel, who also assured that these companies have linked to more than 30,000 workers who will start their work after all the protocols have been implemented.

The Secretary called on companies in the construction sector, which start their operation tomorrow, to comply with the commitment to guarantee alternative mobility for their employees, in order not to saturate public transport.
