Coronavirus in Bogotá: Bogotá begins second quarantine phase – Bogotá

[ad_1]

Starting this Monday, Bogotá begins a new quarantine phase. According to the calculations of the mayor’s office, 2.3 million people are authorized to leave; however, the restrictions of what the mayor has called “the new normal” range from mobility, hours of movement and self-care measures to strict biosecurity protocols in companies.

TIME collected the measures you should consider if you are among the people who can return to work. The first thing you should know is that depending on the sector, your company has an entry shift. At 6 in the morning, workers whose jobs are already in operation enter; from 10 o’clock the construction and manufacturing will be able to do it, and only at noon, the commerce.

In any case, no one can leave his house without a mask, even if he is not going to use public transport, because he can be penalized. In addition, at all times you must keep a minimum distance of one meter from other people.

It is important to remember that from today the measure of ‘peak and gender’ no longer applies in the city. The only ones who will have stricter restrictions on mobilization are those who live in the UPZ declared in orange alert. Although at first the mayor only spoke of two areas, on Saturday night he added two more.

Bavaria, in the Nueva Alsacia and Marseille neighborhoods; Calandaima, in Tintalá, Galán and Osorio; Patio Bonito and Corabastos, María Paz neighborhood, are the four UPZ where the inhabitants can only circulate for basic necessity reasons.

Now, the reopening of the companies will have conditions. Mayor Claudia López assured last night that more than 1,000 construction works and 1,800 manufacturing will come into operation, which means that, according to the president, some 100,000 people will take to the streets, in addition to the 1.3 million that were already leaving.

Bogotá would have to close again, that is why it is important that companies comply with the commitment that their workers use bicycles.

He insisted again that if TransMilenio exceeds 35 percent of its capacity, “Bogotá would have to close again, so it is important that companies comply with the commitment that their workers use bicycles,” he said.
In this sense, he called on companies: “If they tell us lies about the implementation of biosafety protocols, we are going to sanction them, and I ask workers to call us at 123 in case the regulations are not being followed in their companies.”

District entities and police authorities will be strictly monitoring compliance with the new restrictions, whoever fails to comply will be subject to sanction.

And the district entities?

Although Claudia López herself assured that the number of contractors who are going to return to work in person from the other week is uncertain, in conversation with EL TIEMPO she clarified that “the secretariats that provide services to citizens or that they need to be on the streets providing care. “

The president assured that between now and Friday, the agencies have the task of reviewing each service and evaluating the conditions for re-entry.

In addition, that entities such as Social Integration and the Secretariat for Women have to return to face-to-face work, Because of the increase in domestic violence and the demand for social care, the reopening of both services is required.

On the other hand, this newspaper was able to establish that there are already other entities planning special protocols for their re-entry; for example, at the headquarters of the Urban Development Institute (IDU) they are already evaluating the possible adaptations that would have to be made so that officials can work safely.

In this area there are already three public construction works complying with the protocols and carrying out reopening tests. These are: Guayacanes Avenue, Portal Américas and Zona Rosa.

Another case is that of the Planning Secretariat, an entity in which the analysis was also started to identify the necessary adjustments to return to the offices.
However, There are also entities that, for now and because of their function, do not contemplate returning to face-to-face work. The Secretaries of Education, Legal and General are on the list.

In any case, both the mayor and the heads of portfolio have said that as many workers as possible will continue to telework and that officials who are within the vulnerable population, either by age or comorbidities, will not have to return to their workplaces until the risk of contagion does not decrease.
