According to Duque, there are some cases in the world that are under study, but “there is nothing to certify that someone who has already had coronavirus cannot get it again.”

The president pointed out that “cases of possible reinfections are being analyzed, not only by health authorities in other countries, but also under the strict surveillance of the World Health Organization.”

In turn, the infectologist Carlos Álvarez added that there are two cases, one in Hong Kong and the other in the United States, in which it has been shown that the virus that these people had at different times, and that aroused suspicion, was not exactly the same to Sars-Cov-2, which is what causes covid-19. “They are not identical twins, they were first cousins,” Álvarez explained.
