What was intended to be a celebration of the International Day of Peace at the La Paz Educational Institution, in Envigado (Antioquia), ended up sparking controversy.
All for a crossword, which was part of a series of activities in a workshop for ninth grade students that a teacher gave her students as homework, which brought questions in favor of former president Juan Manuel Santos and against uribism.

“Last name of the president, who until today, has been the most committed to the signing of a definitive Peace Agreement for Colombia”Is one of the questions in the crossword puzzle, the answer to which is Santos.
Another question says: “Name of who, being President, promoted the debacle of various sectors of the economy in Colombia and improperly manipulated the Political Constitution.” In this, the answer is Álvaro, referring to former president Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

Faced with this situation, several parents contacted the directors of the Educational Institution showing their disagreement with this exercise.
EI La Paz issued a statement explaining the situation, indicating that the objective of the workshop was to highlight the importance of the International Day of Peace.

“We apologize for socializing a document that is polarized and that condenses a policy of non-pluralistic ideas. We commit ourselves as a community to give feedback to the team of teachers of this project on the subject “, says the document signed by Doris Sánchez, rector of the Institution.
Similarly, it asks parents not to interrupt their children’s classes with their positions or complaints and, if they need to talk to a teacher, they can do so by requesting an appointment with them.
