Conmebol schedules a new meeting with Fifa for this Saturday for the qualifying rounds – International Football – Sports

The Conmebol He had a special meeting this Friday to discuss the difficulty of the South American qualifier for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, due to the refusal of some European clubs to lend to footballers.

The meeting had the presence of Fifa, in the search to unblock the situation, with the double possibility of either postponing dates 5 and 6 or maintaining them. From this meeting, the conclusion for now is that Fifa promised to continue looking for solutions to the difficulty.

“A working session of FIFA, CONMEBOL and member associations was held on the March date of the Qualifiers. FIFA pledged to continue looking for a solution to the impasse that has arisen“, says Conmebol in a trill.

“Because the South American players who play in European leagues are not released in favor of their national teams. Tomorrow (Saturday) a virtual meeting between the president of FIFA and the CONMEBOL Council is scheduled,” he adds.
