When there are only a few hours until the end of this 2020, there are still 47 congressmen who have not made their income tax return public, as required by Law 2013 of 2019. This was revealed by the Department of Public Function, in a report known by this newspaper .
The obligation to make this information public extends to all public servants elected by popular vote, the magistrates of the high courts, the ministers of the office, the superintendents and directors of administrative departments.

However, as revealed by the Public Function, with a cut-off to December 28, 12 senators and 35 representatives have not revealed that information. Among the most recognized congressmen who have not made their statement public are Senator Gustavo Petro, Senator from Cambio Radical Rodrigo Lara and Eduardo Pulgar, who is in custody.
The norm establishes that the publication of the declaration of income and assets and conflicts of interest is a requirement for the senior officials mentioned above to take office.
Likewise, it is obliged that these data be updated every year while the official remains in office.
