This afternoon at the negotiation table installed by the Ombudsman’s Office to agree on the situation in the city after the truckers’ strike, the Road Concession accepted the proposal made by the transporters to exempt them from payment at the collection booths of Manga and Ceballos.
The agreement is valid for two months and is expected to be signed by the parties soon.
In this way, according to what was expressed by the lawyer of the Road Concession José Julio Orozco, it will only be charged at the tolls of La Heroica and Corralito de Piedra.
“The checkpoints will be lifted for two months at the Manga and Ceballos tolls for all vehicles, categories I, II, III, IV and V; the lines that are presented in the external tolls that the Concession operates will have, and it is a request that the Concession respectfully makes, not to artificially promote the non-payment of tolls, ”said Orozco.
It should be remembered that since February 13, category I and II vehicles, that is, taxis, buses and private vehicles do not pay tolls in Manga or Ceballos due to a prior agreement made between the Mayor’s Office and the Road Concession. It was as a result of this that the truckers expressed their disagreement by not being included and launched the protests that in recent weeks have collapsed mobility in Cartagena.
