Colombia has 437,188,800,000 pesos ready, something like 123 million dollars, to acquire 10 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed by Pfizer and Biontech, the same one that today was approved by the United Kingdom to begin applying it en masse.

Although the conversations carried out by the Ministry of Health and the pharmaceutical companies have been kept confidential so as not to alter the process, a resolution of the Ministry of Finance, revealed by BLU Radio, gives details of what the business would be to bring the first vaccines against the covid-19 to Colombia.

Specifically, resolution 2327 signed by Minister Alberto Carrasquilla on November 25 resolves to allocate these resources to the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management and in turn to the Emergency Mitigation Fund (Fome) “for the acquisition of 10 million doses of vaccines against the coronavirus Sars-CoV-2 at a price of 12 dollars per dose with the company Pfizer ”.

This purchase, as the resolution clarifies, was a recommendation of the Covid Vaccine Advisory Committee after its meeting on November 23.
