According to the Court, this is a case of a company that was registered under the name ‘911’ and was in charge of providing security to establishments of chance. The investigation established that said company presented exaggerated operating income, which, apparently, shows that in the firm there was a money laundering, and that Mancuso would have returned to commit a crime after demobilizing with the Justice and Peace law.
According to the former paramilitary chief’s lawyers, in the new criminal proceeding that began, there is an assembly of people who would seek “profit financially and have Mancuso excluded from the transitional process”.
For the Court, it is clear that, according to the imputation, the events occurred after the demobilization, since the file shows how the accounting of different companies was altered
However, despite the arguments presented by the defense, for the Court it is clear that according to the complaint, the events occurred after the demobilization, since the file shows how the accounting of different companies was altered between 2003 and 2006.
The Court clarified that the arguments presented by the defense of Mancuso Gómez “are foreign to this transitional justice matter” and may be heard with the evidence that supports his alleged innocence in said events.
