Two weeks after being introduced as the new coach of the Colombia National Team, Reinaldo Rueda gave the country the first important news of his administration: microcycles are back with players from the national league.
The coach of the national team decided that he will carry out his first camp with soccer players from the league between Monday 8 and Thursday 11 February, at the sports headquarters of the Colombian Football Federation in Barranquilla. For it, Rueda called 23 players from 9 different teams from the BetPlay League.
In the list there are five footballers from America, five from Junior, four from Millionaires, two from Atlético Nacional, two from Deportivo Cali, two from La Equidad, one from Once Caldas, one from Jaguares and another from Águilas Doradas.
In the call made by Rueda, the only athlete with matches in the National Team is Miguel Borja. Young people are among those chosen by the Valle del Cauca technician for this microcycle. Such is the case of Santiago Moreno (America), Luis Sánchez (America), Pablo Ortíz (America), Emerson Rivaldo Rodríguez (Millionaires), Andrés Felipe Román (Millionaires), among others.
Rueda will officially debut with the national team in the last week of March, when Colombia faces Brazil in Barranquilla, for the fifth round of the Qualifiers. Four days later, the ‘tricolor’ will face Paraguay in Asunción.
