The assassination of leaders of Colombia Humana, a movement led by Gustavo Petro, has provoked rejection by members of all political sectors.
One of the voices that has asked the most forceful answers from the Government is the representative Ángela Robledo, who belongs to this community and asked the administration of Iván Duque to stop “stigmatizing the opposition” and stop the “indifference that is bleeding the country.”
In dialogue with EL TIEMPO, the congresswoman admitted that she is thinking about a possible presidential candidacy and spoke of a great progressive alliance.

What actions will you take in the face of the assassination of leaders of Human Colombia?
The actions against this extermination to which leaders of Human Colombia are being subjected have to be taken by the government of Iván Duque and the Attorney General’s Office. They are the ones who have the responsibility in the first place to stop the stigmatization that has been made against the opposition at the head of the Minister of Defense and on the other side an opportunity action is required from the Attorney General’s Office
Are there political interests behind these murders or what is happening?
Colombia has been a country that has not been able to deal with the democratic opposition. In this country the different ones, those who stand in front of the governments and express their differential arguments and demand to live in a country in peace have been exterminated a long time ago, the most painful example is that of the UP and the most recent is that of the leaders who defend causes such as water, such as peace, against which there is no echo in the Iván Duque government and become structural reasons for the bleeding that Colombia is experiencing.
What specific demands do you make of the National Government to stop this situation?
We ask you to stop the stigmatization of its main dignitaries and to set in motion the table of guarantees for the protection of the members of Colombia Humana that was established in the government of Juan Manuel Santos.
I hope to help for the 2022 elections, because I understand that it is urgent to come together
Has there been indifference on the part of the Government?
Our central thesis in the debate on the murder of social leaders and massacres is that indifference is bleeding this country, the indifference of an arrogant government, of a government that is afraid of social protest, then totally represses it.
A government that is afraid of the courage and strength of the minga and runs off not to receive them, is that indifference coupled with a militarization of the territories that does not work. That indifference is what is allowing the war to return to Colombia and become a machine of victimization
You mentioned that the Green Alliance offered you to be a candidate for that community, what do you think about it?
I appreciate that gesture, there are informal conversations, nothing official yet. What I have to say from my side is that I am thinking about it, in the same way there is a group of organizations and platforms who have encouraged me to do a task of assemblies to outline an agenda for 99 percent of Colombia, that is what is ongoing. But I haven’t made a decision yet.
You have spoken of the need for a great progressive alliance. What do you mean by that?
I define myself as a weaver in politics, I have the ability to bring together thoughts, perspectives, leaders and political leaders that it seems that they cannot work together. Forceful was my exercise during the second round accompanying Gustavo Petro as vice-presidential formula, when I approached the Polo, the greens and alternative forces to support us and that worked very well.
Last year we were working on seeking that alliance for local elections, we did not succeed, but with a very significant group of women we made a programmatic agreement with Claudia López, an agreement that little by little we see that it is beginning to be fulfilled. I have that ability to weave in the midst of difference and I hope to help for the 2022 elections, because I understand that it is urgent to come together to face this authoritarian far-right.
